How does the magnet affect the sound?

Magnet makes an important combination with coil, as mentioned earlier. Alnico and ceramic magnets are typically used for pickups. Alnico magnet is an alloy of aluminum, nickel and cobalt, makes a gentle sound with improved sustainment, and uses methods of inserting magnetism. Among alnico magnets, alnico 2 and alnico 5 magnets are often used. Alnico 2 makes more rounded, soft sound, and alnico 5 makes more light and dynamic sound. Inserted magnetism (gauss) becomes stronger with higher alnico numbers. Ceramic magnet is an alloy of magnetized iron, barium and strontium, and makes stronger sound as compared to alnico with stronger gauss.

NOTICE: Standard size is provided for alnico 2 and alnico 5, but it will take time for new size because alnico magnet is difficult to process and manufacture. On the other hand, ferrite magnet could be easily processed into the desired size, but cannot be made into a round rod shape.
